I am NOT interested in fitness.

I had the opportunity today to speak with someone about Beachbody and the great opportunities we offer for creating a new and improved you. You know, Extreme Makeover: Me Edition?

The lady was very nice and was genuinely attracted to our product selection. She asked a question that made me think. She wondered if I decided to become a Coach with Beachbody because I'm "interested in fitness..." I surprised myself when I answered no. I realized quickly that I'm not interested in creating the best me ever.

I'm committed to it.

Do YOU understand the difference? Many people assume their interest will create success. I have come to believe that the strongest thing interest can create is desire. Merriam-Webster defines desire as the following: "to long or hope for; to express a wish for."

To express a wish for?!? To long for?!? Is that ALL I want for my health and fitness goals? Is that all YOU want for yourself?

"To commit" is defined as "to obligate or pledge oneself." Now, that sounds more like it. =0) I'm obligated to others; why not be obligated to me? We all make and keep appointments with others, even sometimes when they're inconvenient for us. I do it, too. I constantly treat others better than I treat myself. I clean my home for others. I make special meals for others. I do, do, do, do and go.... for OTHERS.

In this instance, others are NOT more important you. You must respect yourself enough to keep the fitness appointments you make for yourself. You MUST be obligated to you!

So, I leave you with this:

Think with me about a pig and chicken. Got it? Now think about breakfast... Ham....Bacon....Eggs.... After that breakfast, who's still clucking? That's right, the chicken! The fowl is merely interested in your breakfast, while the pig, poor guy, is committed to it!

So, when it comes to health and fitness are YOU chicken or a pig?

I choose to be a pig. That's right - I'm a pig for fitness!

Make your choice today.

Do it for you.
Do it for life.

Extreme Makeover

Exhausted I sit here at the computer knowing I need to write. Do I feel like writing? NO! A thousand times - NO! The last couple of days we've been destroying our front bathroom in the name of the gods of Home Improvement.(Thus my absence from writing...) It's been crazy long hours pulling sheet rock from the walls, smashing tiles, and creating a mushroom cloud of dust that has managed to cover my entire dwelling. There's tons of crap that right now has no home. It has taken over the rest of my house. I just have to do what I can to live around it, to feed my family, and to make life as normal as possible. I've got a head full of snot, feet full of pain, and kids with the same.  BUT, when we're done, we'll have a beautiful new bathroom that will add relaxation to my life and value to our home at the time of sale. SO WE KEEP MOVING!!!! We don't stop.

It's getting worse before it's going to get better. There's the huge mess; we're all in horrible pain; nobody's slept - really slept - for days... BUT, if we stop now, we'll always and forever be in this stress mess. There will always be a nasty, torn apart bathroom that can't be used as it is. There will always be a pile of bottles containing various lotions, cremes and shampoos along with shower curtain rods, empty boxes, tubes of caulk and hammers scattered and strewn about the house. We could stop for a day to rest and re-coop, but imagine how our lives would be if we were to leave our home like this. It wouldn't really be a home. Sure, we're getting along, but it's not fun. It's not relaxing. It's not REALLY living.

How many times do we feel like giving up when it comes to health and fitness? How many of those times have we allowed it to beat us? ALL OF THEM?!?

YES, I'll admit: it's beaten me every time! NO more!!! If we think about this logically, it makes complete sense. I'm not going to give up on my bathroom because it's a difficult, painful, drawn out process. I'm going to think about how great it will feel when the bathroom's complete. So, how much better will I feel when I AM fit?

My life as an unfit person has been like life with my house right now. I'm getting along day to day, but it's not fun; it's not relaxing. It's not REALLY LIVING! So, even though I'm tired and possibly in pain, I'll keep plugging away. I'll keep fueling my engine with the right fuel. I'll make sure I have the appropriate tools for the job, and I'LL KEEP GOING! I will reach the end of my own physical renovation. Soon, it won't feel like a project. I'll enjoy it, because I can see I'm making a difference.

Here's to Extreme Makeover: ME Edition.

Join me on the journey.

Let's do it for you.

Shakeology: Day 1

Okay, today was Greenberry. I'll be honest. The first gut reaction is, um, yuck - that's green.... Once you get your brain past the fact that everything in your history that was that color was revolting, it's really quite yummy!!

I mixed mine with almond milk and really, truly enjoyed every drop! Absolute deliciocity for only 230 cals! I can't wait to see how the chocolate is. It's probably even better.

That's all for now; I just wanted to make sure I got that posted.

Later!

Shakeology, here I come!

What is Shakeology, you ask? Why, it's the "healthiest meal of the day," that's what! Nutrition simplified. How many of us need to simplify our nutrition? I know I do.

Nutrition seems to be the single most difficult part of a new healthy lifestyle. I have 3 kids; I'm always running from one place to the other or around the house trying to get things done. Making sure the boys eat relatively healthy is easy - they eat whatever I give them: protein, veggie and little bit of carb. But just because it's somewhat healthy for them does not necessarily mean that it's 'meal plan balanced' for my lofty fitness goals. Understand what I mean? You can work out all you want, but if you don't clean up your diet and eat the right foods, you're never going to see results.

Well, Shakeology was created by and for people who do NOT like veggies. YAY, Beachbody! Way to go! They have combined 70, that's right - 70 nutrients in a once-a-day meal replacement shake. I'm sure you, like everyone else, assume it's tasteless and chalky because it's good for you. Well, apparently that's not the case. I've been told by dozens of different people it's quite delicious, so I'm very anxious to try it out. My order just came today!

You can buy a month's supply of Shakeology (chocolate or greenberry) in a bag or in individually packaged "to-go" servings. I chose the packets, so that I could keep it with me at all times and ensure I have good, solid nutrition with me no matter where the day takes us. (You mix it with whatever liquid you can - soy milk, rice milk, water, skim milk, juice... whatever) When you buy Shakeology, you can also get "Shakeology: The workouts." This comes with 2 DVDs: a 30 min and a 50 min workout. They are designed to be mixed and matched with other workouts, so that you're doing them 4 times/wk and adding in 2 other favorite workout days.

Results seen using the Shakeology menu and workout program for 90 days are phenomenal! The study shows:
By the END of Wk 1
         - Improved digestion
         - Reduced cravings

By the end of Wk 4
          - Increased energy and stamina (no need for morning coffee)
          - Lost weight
          - Improved mental clarity

By the end of Wk 12
         - Lost 10 lbs and 2 inches on waist alone (on average)
         - Reduced risk for heart disease and other degenerative diseases
         - Lowered cholesterol an average of 30% but as much as 70%
         - Healthier skin,m hair and nails

Can you imagine one simple meal in a glass doing all that?

PLUS, if you don't LOVE Shakeology and the results you get, return the bag (even if it's empty) for a full money back guarantee (less shipping, of course).

What am I saying? You have NOTHING to lose - and EVERYTHING healthy to gain! I'm in, starting tomorrow. I can't wait to taste it in the morning! I'm actually looking forward to breakfast! =)

Good morning, kids!

Hey, out there! It's been a long time since I woke up looking forward to the day. Well, today, was a 'looking-forward-to-it' kinda morning. It feels good to know I've taken my last 'first' step toward the most fit and healthy me ever.

I know I have a plan, and I know how to attack that plan.

For now, I have to attack the packing - family trip to a wedding in Arkansas. Gonna be a bit of driving, and I'm really looking forward to seeing how cleanly I can eat for the trip! =0)

What do you find gets in the way of YOUR reaching your most fit you? Let me know what you think.

I'll check back in later, kiddos. Can't wait to get fit together!

And the winner is...

Me!

Why, you ask? Because I've just embarked on a journey that will make me fit, both physically AND financially!

I am now officially an Independent Team Beachbody Coach! Can I get a WAHOO??!? Not only am I going to be paid for getting fit myself, but it doesn't get much better than to know I won't have to be away from my family while I help provide for our future!

So, welcome. I'm glad you stopped by. I'll have to be honest with you right from the beginning. I have NEVER finished a 90 day round of ANY workout program - EVER. I am not UBER-fit - not in any sense of the word. I hope to be so one day soon, but right now I'm the Flab part of "from flab to fab..." Why? Life always gets in the way. Well, that ends NOW!!! From this point on, my business and fitness goals can't interfere with each other, because they are co-dependent.

Are you the "Flab" part with me? Well, I'm here for you! Let's make this OUR time, OUR year to do for ourselves what we've wanted to do for a very long time.

Now is the time.
Make the time to get FIT.
Do it for you.
Do it for life.

Let's go!!
