I am NOT interested in fitness.

I had the opportunity today to speak with someone about Beachbody and the great opportunities we offer for creating a new and improved you. You know, Extreme Makeover: Me Edition?

The lady was very nice and was genuinely attracted to our product selection. She asked a question that made me think. She wondered if I decided to become a Coach with Beachbody because I'm "interested in fitness..." I surprised myself when I answered no. I realized quickly that I'm not interested in creating the best me ever.

I'm committed to it.

Do YOU understand the difference? Many people assume their interest will create success. I have come to believe that the strongest thing interest can create is desire. Merriam-Webster defines desire as the following: "to long or hope for; to express a wish for."

To express a wish for?!? To long for?!? Is that ALL I want for my health and fitness goals? Is that all YOU want for yourself?

"To commit" is defined as "to obligate or pledge oneself." Now, that sounds more like it. =0) I'm obligated to others; why not be obligated to me? We all make and keep appointments with others, even sometimes when they're inconvenient for us. I do it, too. I constantly treat others better than I treat myself. I clean my home for others. I make special meals for others. I do, do, do, do and go.... for OTHERS.

In this instance, others are NOT more important you. You must respect yourself enough to keep the fitness appointments you make for yourself. You MUST be obligated to you!

So, I leave you with this:

Think with me about a pig and chicken. Got it? Now think about breakfast... Ham....Bacon....Eggs.... After that breakfast, who's still clucking? That's right, the chicken! The fowl is merely interested in your breakfast, while the pig, poor guy, is committed to it!

So, when it comes to health and fitness are YOU chicken or a pig?

I choose to be a pig. That's right - I'm a pig for fitness!

Make your choice today.

Do it for you.
Do it for life.
